Strength to Tug of War Getting Started: Part 1 Journey
Your first session in World 1—learn the loop Tough Guy Studio built around every step you take.
What Strength to Tug of War is
+1 Strength to Tug of War is a Roblox incremental game by Tough Guy Studio. You walk or run around the map to gain strength, your character’s muscles grow as that number rises, and you spend progress on equipment that increases how much strength you earn per step. Eventually you take that build into tug-of-war fights against other players, rebirth for permanent bonuses, and push through World 1, World 2, and World 3 as the developer expands content in weekly Saturday updates.
This guide covers Part 1—your first hours in World 1 before rebirth becomes mandatory and before world gates dominate your goals. If you already understand stepping and shops, skip ahead to How to Get Stronger or Rebirth.
Launch the game from the official Roblox place page so you are on the correct experience. Similar titles exist; only Tough Guy Studio’s place shares this progression system.
First launch: UI tour
After you spawn in World 1, pause for thirty seconds and locate these elements:
- Strength counter — Shows your current power. It ticks up as you move.
- Muscle / size growth — Your avatar scales with strength, which is both visual feedback and a rough indicator that your account is advancing.
- Equipment shop or upgrade panels — Usually near the spawn hub or along the main training lane. This is where you convert progress into strength per step.
- Tug-of-war zone — A marked arena or queue where matches start. You do not need max stats to enter your first fight, but you should know where it is.
- Rebirth menu — Often locked or unaffordable early. Note the location; you will return after reading the Rebirth guide.
Tough Guy Studio occasionally moves buttons after Saturday patches. If an icon disappears, check the Updates hub rather than guessing.
Step one: learn to gain strength by moving
The name +1 Strength is literal. Walking and running generate strength based on your current equipment and any active boosts. Early on, the gain per step is tiny, which is normal.
For your first ten minutes:
- Walk a full lap around the safe training area without opening shops.
- Watch how quickly the strength number climbs compared to your starting value.
- Notice whether sprinting changes the rate—some builds reward constant motion over AFK shuffling.
Do not worry about tug-of-war yet. You are calibrating how fast World 1 expects you to scale before the first equipment purchase.
Step two: buy your first equipment upgrades
Equipment is the real engine of incremental progress. Early gear is cheap and provides the first meaningful jump in strength per step. Open the shop and prioritize:
- Step multipliers or training gear that directly say they boost strength gained while moving
- Affordable tiers you can buy within your first few minutes, not the highest locked row
Avoid cosmetic-only items until you have at least one solid equipment line upgrading smoothly. Our How to Get Stronger guide explains long-term purchase order; for Part 1, the rule is simple: if it does not increase strength per step, skip it.
After each purchase, walk the same lap again and compare the strength gain to your first lap. You should feel a clear difference before you chase expensive tiers.
Step three: understand muscle growth
Muscle size is tied to your strength stat. As you climb, your character grows, which helps you visually spot stronger players in tug-of-war lobbies. Muscle growth is not just cosmetic—it signals that your numbers are in the range where PvP becomes viable.
If your avatar still looks small but your strength counter is high, you may have buffs that inflate the number without matching equipment efficiency. Fix that by returning to equipment upgrades instead of idle grinding.
Step four: queue for your first tug-of-war match
Tug-of-war is the skill check that breaks pure idle stepping. Walk to the arena when your strength is at least double your starting value or when you have two or more equipment upgrades—whichever comes first.
In your first match:
- Read any on-screen prompt about pulling, timing, or team sides
- Do not leave early; partial matches sometimes still grant participation rewards
- If you lose badly, return to stepping rather than spamming rematches with zero upgrades
Detailed win strategies live in How to Win Tug of War. Part 1 only requires you to complete a match so you understand how strength translates—or fails to translate—into victory.
Step five: set a short World 1 goal
Before you rebirth or chase World 2, pick a concrete Part 1 milestone:
- Reach the next equipment tier row in your main gear line
- Hit a strength number you see on stronger players in the hub
- Win three tug-of-war rounds without feeling one-shot
Write that goal down. Incremental games feel endless without mini-targets, and Tough Guy Studio’s Saturday updates can distract you with new buttons before you finish basics.
Codes, groups, and official info
There are no active public codes right now. When codes appear, redeem them using our Codes hub and How to Redeem guide—but do not wait for promos to progress Part 1.
Follow the Tough Guy Studio Roblox group for announcements. Avoid codes listed for Tug of War Simulator or other games; they will not work here.
When Part 1 ends and Part 2 begins
You graduate from this beginner journey when:
- Equipment upgrades slow down because you need more strength to afford the next tier
- Tug-of-war opponents consistently outscale you unless you optimize routes
- The rebirth menu shows bonuses worth the reset cost
That is the handoff to How to Get Stronger for farming efficiency and Rebirth for permanent multipliers. World travel comes later in the Worlds guide.
Part 1 checklist
Use this before you leave World 1 basics:
- Joined the official Tough Guy Studio place
- Completed a training lap and watched strength tick up
- Bought at least two meaningful equipment upgrades
- Finished one tug-of-war match
- Located the rebirth menu for later
- Bookmarked the Guides hub for the next topic
Strength to Tug of War is straightforward once the loop clicks: move, upgrade, fight, reset smarter, go farther. Part 1 is about making that loop feel natural so every Saturday update builds on a solid account—not a confused restart.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers players look up before every session.
How do I gain strength at the start of Strength to Tug of War?
Walk or run around the map. Each step adds strength based on your equipment. Buy early gear that increases strength per step rather than cosmetics.
When should I try my first tug-of-war match?
After you roughly double your starting strength or buy at least two equipment upgrades. You will lose sometimes, but you need one match to see how strength converts to wins.
Should I rebirth during Part 1?
Usually not immediately. Rebirth becomes worth it once bonuses outweigh lost progress. Read the Rebirth guide before you reset your first run.
Are there starter codes for new players?
No active public codes are confirmed. Progress Part 1 through stepping and equipment only, and check the Codes hub after Saturday updates.
What comes after this getting started guide?
Move to How to Get Stronger for efficient farming, then Rebirth for permanent bonuses, How to Win for tug-of-war strategy, and Worlds for World 2 and World 3 gates.
Why is my character growing bigger?
Muscle size scales with your strength stat. It is visual feedback that your numbers are rising and a rough way to compare yourself to other players in the hub.
